Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have a race against time if they want any new signings to feature in this weekend’s Premier League opening games.
All three clubs have been active in the transfer window so far this summer. Arsenal have added six new players to their squad, Chelsea have completed eight incoming transfers, while Spurs have signed six new players.
It’s therefore expected that there will be a few debuts in the upcoming weekend fixtures as new arrivals look to make an immediate impact for their new clubs. There could however potentially be some more new faces before the end of the week, who could potentially make their first appearances this weekend.

Chelsea are continuing to work on a deal for Xavi Simons, and have started talks with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho.
Spurs meanwhile are reported to be in talks with Manchester City over a move for winger Savinho.
Arsenal and Tottenham are both credited with an interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, but football.london understands that concentration is currently on outgoings where the Gunners are concerned.
Eyes are now turning to the first games of the season. Tottenham are in action on Saturday (3pm) when they take on newly-promoted Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Meanwhile, both Chelsea and Arsenal are in action on Sunday (2pm & 4.30pm) when they face Crystal Palace (H) and Man United (A) respectively.
Amid work being done on deals, the rule U.23 of the Premier League handbook states that: “...the registration of a player shall be 12 noon on the last working day before the date of the first league match in which the club making the application intends him to play..”
Therefore, if Arsenal, Chelsea or Spurs do make any new signings this week, then they must be registered by 12pm on Friday, 15 August, for him to be eligible to play in the opening day fixture.
With both Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth in action on Friday night, they have a slightly different deadline. Players for that game will have to be registered by 12pm on Thursday, 14 August.
If that deadline is missed, then players will have to wait another week to make their debuts for their new clubs.
