Rodrygo delivers clear Real Madrid message as Arsenal transfer saga has firm deadline

Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has issued a message of his commitment to Real Madrid amid ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Brazilian for some time as Mikel Arteta looks to add reinforcements to his attack. Andrea Berta has added three new signings to the forward line this summer with Eberechi Eze joining Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke through the door over the weekend.

Eze completed his move from Crystal Palace in dramatic style on Saturday after Arsenal hijacked Tottenham's move. The England international comes in to add further depth to Arteta's attack.

Rodrygo had been another target for the Gunners after his future at Real Madrid was placed into doubt. He was rarely used by Xabi Alonso at the Club World Cup before he was an unused substitute in Madrid's 1-0 win over Osasuna last week.

On Sunday, the Brazilian was handed a place in thestarting XI for the 3-0 win at Real Oviedo. However, after an hour, he was replaced by Vinicius Junior, who went on to score the third.

In the dug-out, Rodrygo was pictured appearing to complain about something and was visibly frustrated after coming off. He then threw his training top on the ground before leaning forward to take a sip from his water bottle. A video of the Brazil international's tantrum quickly went viral, with many casting doubt over his future at Real Madrid as a result.

In the aftermath of the game, Rodrygo took to social media react to the win. Posting a series of match images, he added the caption: "Nice trip to Ovieda. Hala Madrid!"

It remains to be seen whether Rodrygo will move to the Premier League with a switch to Manchester City now seeming more likely after Eze's arrival at the Emirates Stadium. Any deal would need to be wrapped up quickly ahead of next Monday's transfer deadline.
