JEE Exam Center: Now, candidates will not be able to choose their preferred exam center for exams like JEE, NEET, and CUET. The new rule is that the exam center will be assigned according to the address listed on the Aadhaar card. The NTA says this will maintain transparency and order in the exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented a new rule for national examinations like JEE, NEET UG, and CUET UG. Students will no longer be able to choose their exam center based on their preferred address. The exam center will only be available based on the address listed on their Aadhaar card. This aims to make the examination process transparent and streamlined.

Update Aadhaar Cards Before Applying

The NTA has issued a notice to students and parents urging them to correct their address and other details on their Aadhaar cards before the application process begins. There will be no option to change their Aadhaar card after applying, so students whose address or other information is incorrect should update it promptly.

When will the exam begin?

The notice states that the national entrance examination process for the 2026-27 academic year is beginning. It will begin with JEE Main 2026. Students are advised to check their documents, such as Aadhaar and 10th-grade certificates, in advance.

The information on your Aadhaar and 10th-grade certificate must match.

It is important to note that the name, date of birth, and other details on your Aadhaar card and 10th-grade certificate must match. Any discrepancy will result in your application being rejected. Furthermore, the examination center will be assigned based on the address listed on your Aadhaar card.

Important Information for Students in Reserved Categories

Students from the Disabled, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories are advised to have their certificates ready. The information on these certificates must match your Aadhaar and 10th-grade certificate. Changes to these documents will not be possible after completing the application form.

Now, the center for exams like NEET, JEE, and CUET will be based on the address listed on your Aadhaar card, not your choice. Therefore, all students should ensure that their documents are corrected in time and focus on their exam preparation.
