Who can open Jan Aushadhi Kendra?

Some conditions have been fixed for opening Jan Aushadhi Kendra. For this, you must have D Pharma or B Pharma. Also, there should be at least 120 square feet of space. Apart from this, the application fee has been kept at Rs 5 thousand.

Applications are accepted in three categories-

The first category includes doctors, pharmacists and registered medical practitioners

The second category includes trusts, NGOs and private hospitals

The third category includes those people who are nominated by the state government

Help received from the government

An incentive of 15 percent or a maximum of Rs 15,000 is given on the sale of medicines worth up to Rs 5 lakh every month.

A one-time financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh is given to women, Divyang, SC-ST and backward areas.

Apart from this, help of up to Rs 1.5 lakh can be received for furniture and Rs 50,000 for computer-printer.

A separate commission of up to 20 percent is also given on the sale of medicines.

Documents required for Jan Aushadhi Kendra

If you want to apply, then you should have some important documents. These documents should include Aadhaar card, PAN card, pharmacist registration certificate, address proof, passport size photo, mobile number and email ID.

Where and how to apply?

The application process is completely online. For this, you have to visit the official website janaushadhi.gov.in. After this, you will first have to click on Apply for Center. Now if you are already registered, then login by entering OTP from mobile, email or user ID. After this, if you are not already registered, then click on Register Now and create an account by entering name, mobile number, email and password. After logging in, fill the application form, tag the location and upload all the documents in PDF format. Lastly, deposit a fee of up to Rs 5,000 from the online payment gateway. After the application is successful, a confirmation mail will be sent to your email ID. You can login to the portal at any time and check your application status or get information on the given helpline number.

According to the government data, people have saved about Rs 38,000 crore in the last 11 years by buying medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendras. While the out-of-pocket expenditure of families on health was 62.6 percent earlier, it has now come down to 39.4 percent. The government aims to open 25,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country by March 2027.
