'Kuch To Sharam Karo' Fans Find Rajinikanth's Coolie Poster 'Copied' From 3 Movies

Remember when Edward Norton’s character in Fight Club said, “Everything is a copy of a copy of a copy”? That line perfectly sums up the vibe of Coolie’s new posters.

The makers of Coolie published some new posters recently and they had an uncanny resemblance to the posters of Madame Web, Rebel Moon, and Beast.

While these posters do bear similarities to one another, it’s also true that certain design patterns have been in use for years. Many film posters tend to follow these familiar templates, making it less about copying and more about adhering to a tried-and-tested visual formula that the industry has been using for a long time.

The reactions to Coolie posters

Users are bashing Coolie makers and are calling them ‘copycats.’

Many of them also said that War 2 posters are at least original.

One user commented, “Every freaking poster of #Coolie is copy and paste. This whole movie's hype is sustaining on #War2. Agar clash na hota toh nobody would notice that there is a movie coming named Coolie.”

Another user commented, “So basically, 3 out of the 4 posters recently released by the Coolie team are copied from somewhere else. Can't even believe someone like GP copied even from a fan-made poster of Beast.”

One user reacted, “War2 is bringing the heat with its original concept! Meanwhile, #Coolie seems to be struggling with accusations of copying another movie's poster. Don't hype #CoolieTrailer its also copied. Originality always wins in the end.”

Another user reacted, “Another Copy Paste Poster of #Coolie. If not for the south movie this would've gotten so much hate. Bollywood movie nhi hai toh No Hate, Outrage lol. Mfs will eat sh*t in the name of Mass from south India film industry.”

One user said, “Why isn't anyone talking about this? Both posters from Coolie are copied from Hollywood movies! Imagine if Bollywood filmmakers did this,the outrage would be insane.”

About Coolie

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is a mass action thriller starring Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.

It is slated to release on August 14, clashing with Hrithik Roshan’s War 2.
