Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 22 (ANI): In a move to promote the film industry and honour its artists, the Telangana government on Tuesday appointed a Committee under the Chairmanship of filmmaker B Narsing Rao to formulate procedures for the upcoming Gaddar Telangana Film Awards.
According to the press note shared by the Information and Public Relations (I & PR) Department of the Government of Telangana, the Telangana Film Development Corporation will organise the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards ceremony.
Earlier this month, the Telangana Film Development Corporation invited applications from directors and producers for the "Gaddar Telangana Film Awards," which aim to recognise the best Telugu films certified by the Censor Board in 2024.
The awards will be given in the following categories:
Feature Films (Telugu and Urdu)
National Integration Films
Children's Films
Environmental/Heritage/Historical Films
First-Time Director Films
Entertaining Films
Animation Films
Special Effects Films
Documentary Films
Short Films
Awards for Best Actors and Technicians
As per the press note, the Telangana Film Development Corporation has received a total of 76 applications from directors and producers in the above categories.
It also has 1172 nominations in the individual award categories.
A 15-member jury committee, headed by renowned actress Jayasudha, has been constituted to evaluate films in the above categories and decide on the "Gaddar Telangana Film Awards," stated the press note.
In addition to the above categories, special awards will be given in the following categories:
NTR National Film Award
Paidi Jairaj Film Award
BN Reddy Film Award
Nagireddy and Chakrapani Film Award
Kantha Rao Film Award
Raghupati Venkaiah Film Award
The "Gaddar Telangana Film Awards" will also honour the best Telugu films certified by the Censor Board between 2014 to 2023, with one outstanding film receiving an award per year. (ANI)
