Police have busted a drug syndicate led by DJ Yaseen, who used a chain marketing-style strategy to lure young women into the MD drug trade.
Investigators revealed that Yaseen’s gang preyed on women in clubs, pubs and hookah lounges. Members of the gang posed as managers of fake companies and conducted sham interviews, offering high-paying jobs and promises of a lavish lifestyle.
Female members already in the network offered free MD drugs to newcomers, slowly addicting them. Once hooked, the women were forced to buy drugs. Later, they were told they could only continue receiving drugs for free if they brought in more girls or youths willing to sell the substances.
Several women connected to the racket were found living in shared rented apartments, used as operational bases to store and distribute drugs.
Police are now trying to track the full extent of the network and identify suppliers. The syndicate reportedly sourced MD drugs from people in Rajasthan, who operated under fake identities and avoided giving exact locations. This secrecy has made it difficult to trace them.
Two more key figures — an alleged doctor, Rahim Malik, and gym owner Mohsin Khan — are absconding. Additional DCP (Crime) Shailendra Singh Chauhan said their arrest could lead to more names and help dismantle the wider network.
