Kharagpur: BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Sunday lauded the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for the move to include Operation Sindoor in the textbooks for classes 3 to 12.
Ghosh said that the students should be aware of events like Operation Sindoor and the Kargil War.
Ghosh told ANI, "Operation Sindoor is the latest happening, but events like the Kargil War and more like this, children should be aware of these and have knowledge about these. The society should be aware of the sacrifices made by the soldiers for the security of the country."

NCERT will soon introduce a dedicated module on Operation Sindoor for school students across Classes 3 to 12, education ministry sources told ANI.
From Space To Military Strike: NCERT To Introduce 2 New Curriculum Modules Featuring Captain Shubhanshu Shukla & Operation SindoorTwo separate modules, one for Classes 3 to 8 and another for Classes 9 to 12, are currently under preparation and are likely to be around 8 to 10 pages long.
The initiative, sources said, is aimed at educating students about India's military power and its ability to respond to threats, with a focus on how Pakistan was "defeated once again" through the operation.
The module will highlight India's recent defence achievements and is part of a larger push to introduce themes of national pride and strategic capability into the school curriculum.
India launched Operation Sindoor shortly after midnight on May 7, as a response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people.
