Antim Sanskar: In Hinduism, many rituals are performed before the last rites. Do you know why the corpse of a married woman is adorned with 16 ornaments before the cremation? What is the belief behind it?

Antim Sanskar: Birth and death are inevitable. After death, the last rites are definitely performed. This is the final rite among the 16 rites of Hinduism. In Hinduism, if a married woman dies, then before her cremation, she is adorned with 16 ornaments. Let us know the reason behind this.
Why is a funeral necessary?
According to the scriptures, the last rites or cremation are performed so that if the soul has any attachment left towards its body, it gets rid of it, because after this, it takes a new body or goes to heaven.
Why do we do 16 Shringar before the last rites of a Suhagin?
If someone dies untimely, some special rituals are performed for the peace of his/her soul. When a married woman dies, the importance of doing 16 Shringar (worship) before her cremation is told. This is related to the Ramayana period.
At the time of Mata Sita's marriage, her mother Sunaina Devi had told her that just as a bride goes to her in-laws' house with 16 adornments at the time of marriage and gets unending good fortune, similarly, when a married woman dies, she is also sent off with sixteen adornments.
According to beliefs, before the last rites, the Suhagin is adorned with 16 Shringar (shringars) so that she gets good fortune in the next birth as well. This is a traditional practice that is being followed from generation to generation.
