Shortly after the shock return of Zoe Slater(Michelle Ryan) EastEnders fans have been treated to yet another return - her ex Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey).
Anthony will be returning to the Square this summer for the first time in 11 years as he attends his father Patrick's wedding to Yolande. We know Zoe will be back sometime soon - so does this mean the exes could reunite after two decades?
Anthony first joined the soap in 2000, and during his time on the Square, he struck up a relationship with both Zoe AND Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).

Now, for the first time in two decades, the trio will likely be back on the Square at the same time - and there's no doubt chaos will follow. As we prepare for Anthony's return, the Mirror takes a look back at his relationship with the Slaters...

When he first joined Walford in 2000, Anthony began dating Kat Slater, which his mother Audrey deeply disapproved of. The pair later broke things off, and Anthony struck up a relationship with none other than Kat's teenage daughter, Zoe.
The pair even got engaged, but Zoe ended up leaving the Square. She later found out that Kat and Anthony had slept together on the day that was supposed to be their wedding day.
Anthony was still in love with Kat, but they broke things off once again after Kat realised they weren't compatible. Of course, it wasn't as simple as she later found out she was pregnant with his baby. She decided to have an abortion; however, she sadly miscarried while on the way to tell Anthony about her pregnancy.

Doctor Anthony left the Square shortly after in 2003, when he caused the death of a pregnant patient. He briefly returned to the Square a year later for Patrick and Yolande's first wedding in 2004, and once again in 2005 for his brother Paul's funeral.
Now, for the first time in 20 years, Anthony, Zoe and Kat are likely to be on the Square together once again. As we know, Kat and Zoe's relationship is severely strained - so much so that Alfie lied about being in Australia when he's really gone to Barcelona to get Zoe.
He hopes to bring the mother and daughter duo back together, but with Anthony's return on the horizon - could there be even more drama in store for the pair?
Speaking about reprising his role as Anthony, Nicholas said: “It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I’m full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony. It’s wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again - he’s such a big part of my journey as an actor, and I loved filming my first scenes with him after so long.
"I'm excited to see what the passage of time has done to Anthony and explore his relationship with Patrick at this stage in their lives.”
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
