Smartwatches and fitness trackers can be very expensive, with leading brands on the market selling devices for hundreds of pounds. However, consumers seeking a smartwatch on a budget can take advantage of a flash sale on a refurbished Apple model, worth £199.95.
For 24 hours only, Wowcher is selling refurbished models of the Apple Watch Series 5 from £79.20. The timed deal is available today only (Friday, October 10). To get it, shoppers must enter the discount code BLACKFRIDAY20 at checkout to receive it at the sale price.
The refurbished Apple Watch Series 5 (40mm) features 32GB of storage for apps and music and includes built-in GPS. The fitness tracker can also monitor daily movements, workouts and a wearer's heart rate, and take an ESG.

Apple released the Watch 5 in 2019, making the model six years old. Shoppers have the option to choose from three hues: gold, grey and silver.
Wowcher classifies the refurbishment grade of the Apple Watch 5 as 'good', which the marketplace defines as 'few signs of wear-and-tear show that it's clearly seen use, but overall it's in good shape. There might be minor surface marks, but functionality is completely intact.'
Alternatively, Android users can opt for the latest Galaxy Watch7, priced at £319 from Currys. Standout features include the next-gen BioActiveSensor, which detects the smallest of changes to a wearer's heart rate, and a 4-hour battery life.
Meanwhile, Very is selling a Fitbit Inspire 3smartwatch for £84. The fitness tracker features Active Zone Minutes, as well as activity and sleep tracking, to help you lead a healthier lifestyle.
Prospective buyers of Wowcher's refurbished Apple Watch Series 5 can find reviews and ratings of the model on Amazon (priced at £139, with limited stock available), where it is sold on the marketplace's Renewed Storefront. One user wrote: "I’m definitely buying again. It’s been working beautifully so far."
Another person commented: "All round brilliant piece of kit. I'm a regular gym-goerso the fitness stuff is really useful. My family have always despaired that they can never reach me by phone because I forget to carry it - ha, no longer an issue!"
Not all buyers were pleased, with one noting downsides on the battery life. They said: "I bought this purely to use to track my runs. Whilst the watch itself is good, the battery is awful.
"Doesn’t even last a day and that’s with barely any use. I think buying a brand-new one is probably better."

A fourth user of the watch concluded: "Watch is as described, good condition, and battery life is ok. Great value." Shoppers new to Wowcher can find reviews and ratings of its service on Trustpilot, where it has more than 134,000 comments. A shopper wrote: "Very quick and easy to order."
An additional buyer remarked: "Easy to redeem vouchers, hassle-free. Great deals too!" Another liked the service but noted disappointment with the postage fees, they said: "First time not happy with £10 postage fee. I'll see what happens when I get a new phone; all in all, great service."
A final reviewer said: "Wowcher always give me good deals. Highly recommended." Wowcher's 24-hour BLACKFRIDAY20 discount code can also be used on a number of other products.
Including a Christmas Advent Calendar Mystery Deal, usually £14.99, but £11.99 with the code applied. It gives shoppers the chance to purchase a luxe festive countdown from the likes of Selfridges, Liberty London, Harrods, Glossybox, Radley and more.
The BLACKFRIDAY20 discount code can also be used on this Calvin Klein 3-pack Boxers Set (normally £19.99 but £15.99 with code), this Christophe Duchamp Luxury Swiss Watch (normally £209 but £167.20 with code), and a Divan Bed with Storage and Mattress (normally from £79 but from £63.20 with code).
