The One Show's Alex Jones has been left gobsmacked during tonight's episode on the BBC series - with guest Richard Osman announcing that he would be taking over from her for the rest of the show.
Tonight's episode celebrates Alex Jones' 15th anniversary on The One Show and to celebrate, co-host Roman Kemp decided to surprise her by making her the guest for once. While Alex thought that Richard Osman had come on the show to talk about The Thursday Murder Club's upcoming film, he quickly revealed that he would be swapping places with Alex so they could look back through her career.
While Alex began her link to camera by saying that they would be chatting to Richard about the Thursday Murder Club, Richard soon interrupted. "Actually Alex, apologies - I'm not going to be talking about the Thursday Murder Club film," he said to a shocked Alex.

"I'm here because everyone asked me if I would come and help surprise you and celebrate 15 years on The One Show sofa, forgive me," he added. Alex responded: "I watched the whole film! And loved it, by the way."
She then turned to Roman and said: "I will never trust you again. We've rehearsed all these questions." Roman then revealed that the rest of the show will be a complete surprise to Alex, adding: "You've done every bar one thing which is you've never actually been a guest on this show."
She said: "No because I like being this side." Roman then broke the news that Richard would be co-hosting the rest of the show with him and that Alex would be taking his place as a guest on the other sofa.
When asked how it felt to take her earpiece out, Alex said: "This feels really weird now. I hate it. I do like the voices in my head."
Over the course of the show, Alex received messages from the likes of Joanna Lumley, Gethin Jones, her husband Charlie, their children and even the BBC's Director-General Tim Davie.
Earlier this week, Alex Jones set the record straight on her future at the popular show, telling Scott Mills: "I'm not leaving, Scott."
