Taylor Swift has revealed the sad way her pal Ed Sheeran found out she was engaged. When it comes to superstar friendships, Ed and Taylor have to be up there. The powerhouses of the music world have a close friendship that dates back to 2012.
However, despite their seemingly tight bond, Taylor, 35, has revealed the Lego House singer, 34, wasn't on her top priority list when it came to revealing her engagement. Instead, Ed is said to have discovered Taylor and NFL star partner Travis Kelce were set to tie the knot after hearing about it on social media.
While promoting her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, Taylor took to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder glittery gown as she chatted with the comedian.

And during one segment, Jimmy was trying to find out which rumours were true and which were lies. He asked the singer: "Did Ed Sheeran learn about your engagement on Instagram?"
As Taylor shockingly admitted: "That's so true", the presenter fell to the floor in shock as the audience cheered on. "Oh no," he gasped before the songstress tried to explain herself.
She went on to add: "I have a perfect explanation," as she gestured with her hands. As her voice rose, she said: "He doesn't have a phone.
"He doesn't have a phone...You have to email him or FaceTime him, and he has to find an iPad, and they have to give it to him like he’s a child. This is one of my absolute favourite people on the planet. When the news came out, I was like, ‘We forgot to call Ed!"
However, fans were clearly stunned by Taylor's latest oversight. "Ed Sheeran learned about Taylor's engagement from Instagram," one user wrote with a shocked face emoji. Another added: "What I'm hearing is that he didn't want to give her his phone number."
But Ed previously revealed why he doesn't have a phone. In 2022, he admitted he ditched the device in 2015. “I got really, really overwhelmed and sad with the phone. I just spent my whole time in a very low place," he said.
"I didn't so much cut contact with people, I just limit contact with people," he added. "Every few days, I'll sit down and open up my laptop, and I'll answer 10 emails at a time, and I’ll send them off, and I’ll close my laptop, and that’ll be it. And then I'll go back to living life and I don't feel overwhelmed by it."
Ever since their friendship formed, the pair have appeared on stage together a number of times. Taylor even sent Ed a personalised jam jar in 2013 as she took a swipe at the VMAs incident involving herself and Kanye West.
She sent her buddy the homemade jam in August 2013. The jar came with a handwritten label, which included a hilarious shout-out to the infamous moment.
Fast forward a decade and after dropping several Easter eggs about a potential collaboration, the pals hooked up for the remix of Ed's "The Joker and the Queen. "This video makes me think of our friendship all these years," he said on Instagram following the release.
