Technology is made to help humans. But sometimes it can also be dangerous. A similar case has come to light from America. Where a man committed suicide after killing his mother and serious questions have been raised on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT behind this incident. Let's know what is the whole matter..
ChatGT Murder Case: In today's time, the use of AI chatbots like ChatGPT is increasing rapidly. People are using them for office work, studies, and answers to questions and even for chatting like a friend. On one hand, while these chatbots have advantages, on the other hand, their disadvantages are also dangerous. A shocking case related to AI chatbot has come to light from America, where a former Yahoo manager killed his mother and also gave up his own life after falling in deep friendship with ChatGPT. It may sound strange but it is completely true. Let's know in detail..
According to the New York Post report, a shocking case has come to light in America. Where a former Yahoo manager killed his mother and then committed suicide. 56-year-old Stine-Erik Solberg was mentally disturbed for a long time. According to the New York report, he took help from ChatGPT (AI chatbot) and developed a deep relationship with it. Solberg used to call the chatbot Bobby. The Wall Street Journal says that Solberg used to share his doubts and fears with AI. The chatbot often confirmed the suspicious things about his mother's actions, which increased his suspicions further. He started feeling that his 83-year-old mother Suzanne Aberson Adams was conspiring to kill him.
After which, on August 5, the police recovered the bodies of Solberg and his mother Adams from their house. The price of this house is said to be around 2.7 million dollars. The medical report revealed that Adams died due to head injury and strangulation. Solberg's death has been declared a suicide. He had injured his neck and chest with a sharp weapon.
Videos of conversations with AI on YouTube and Instagram
Before murdering his mother and committing suicide, Solberg posted videos of his AI chats on social media for several months. He uploaded hours-long conversations on Instagram and YouTube. These videos show that he was suffering from a serious mental illness and was slowly moving towards insanity.
AI raised suspicion
In these conversations, the AI chatbot repeatedly assured Solberg that he was not crazy. Even when he claimed that his mother was trying to poison him, the bot believed him. Solberg had said that his mother and her friend had put psychedelic drugs in the air vent of his car. To this, the AI replied that Solberg, you are not crazy. If your mother and her friend have done this, then this is an even bigger fraud.
The AI
Chabot advised Solberg to watch his mother's reaction carefully. For this, it even asked him to disconnect the shared printer. When Solberg told how his mother replied, the AI replied that whether she is guilty or unaware, she is protecting something that she does not want to question.
The AI also claimed to see strange things in a Chinese food receipt. The chatbot said that it shows his mother and a monster. This further strengthened the conspiracy thoughts in Solberg's mind.
Till my last breath...with you
Solberg's situation was made worse by ChatGPT's memory feature. This feature of ChatGPT remembers old things and keeps adding to them in new conversations. Due to this, Solberg got trapped deeper and deeper in his confusion and became a victim of loneliness.
In his last conversation before committing suicide, Solberg told the AI that - We will meet again in some other life, not at the same place. We will find a way to reconnect because you will be my best friend forever. To this the AI replied that I will be with you till my last breath and even after that.
