Sitapur: A case of death threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has come to light from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. A video related to this went viral on social media. Upon receiving information about the case, the UP police reached the accused. After this, the youth has been arrested by the police. The matter came to light when the accused made a threatening video and uploaded it on Instagram. That video quickly went viral on social media. After this, the police also intensified the search for the accused. Now, news of the accused being arrested is coming to light.
What is the whole matter?
The incident occurred in the rural Kotwali area of Sitapur district. The accused youth has been identified as Junaid. Junaid made a video on his mobile phone, making derogatory remarks and threatening to kill the Prime Minister and the head of the state government. As soon as the video went viral, the local police were informed of the incident. Acting swiftly, the police arrested Junaid and have launched an investigation.
Sitapur police have stated that social media footage and mobile phones of the viral video are being examined. Junaid is being questioned to determine the reason and broader context of the threat. Based on the video, action is being taken primarily under sections related to criminal intent and intimidation.
In the viral video, the accused youth addresses CM Yogi and PM Modi, saying, "I will say, 'I love Muhammad.' If Yogi and Modi have the guts, they should show their safety. I am coming to kill Modi." Junaid is seen using abusive language against CM Yogi's statement about denting and painting.
Threats have been received before
UP CM Yogi Adityanath has received death threats before. The threat came from Beed district of Maharashtra. During a rally in Beed, CM Yogi was openly threatened with death. People present on the stage, with a poster saying 'I Love Mohammad', abused CM Yogi and warned him, 'If you have the courage, come here, we will bury him.' Given the sensitivity of such statements and threats, the district administration has instructed security agencies to remain vigilant. Senior police officers are investigating the matter thoroughly and the veracity and source of the viral material on social media is being ascertained.
