Senior dietitian Payal Sharma advises that after breaking your Karwa Chauth fast, it is important not to eat just anything. Consuming light and hydrating foods is recommended to restore energy and maintain health.
Tips for Breaking the Fast:
Start with Dates:
Eat one or two dates first. Dates are nutrient-rich and high in carbohydrates, providing instant energy and gently filling the stomach after a day of fasting.
Hydrating Foods Are Key:
Since fasting involves abstaining from water, it’s crucial to rehydrate. Drinking coconut water can help replenish fluids and electrolytes.
Include Fruits:
Fruits help keep the body hydrated and provide essential vitamins. Avoid heavy meals immediately after breaking the fast; instead, consume fruits first and wait a while before moving on to grains or main meals.
