A shocking incident from Nashik, Maharashtra has sent shockwaves across the region—a 16-year-old student was beaten to death by two classmates over a petty dispute regarding seating arrangements. The victim, Yashraj Gangurde, a Class 10 student and resident of Ashok Nagar, was attacked near a coaching center on Saturday evening.
Fight Started Over a Bench in SchoolAccording to reports, Yashraj had a verbal spat with two fellow students on Wednesday in school after a disagreement about who would sit on a particular bench. Though the issue seemed resolved at the time, tensions reignited outside the coaching centre a few days later.
On Saturday, the same two boys encountered Yashraj near the coaching centre in the Satpur area. An argument broke out again, which quickly escalated into a physical assault. The two minor boys kicked and punched Yashraj repeatedly until he lost consciousness.
Rushed to Hospital, Declared DeadBystanders who witnessed the incident immediately rushed Yashraj to a private hospital, but he had already succumbed to his injuries by the time medical help arrived. The Satpur Police Station has registered a case and detained the two minor accused.
Tragedy Strikes Grieving Family AgainThe murder has devastated Yashraj’s family, who were still recovering from the loss of his father in an earlier tragedy four years ago. The local community is in shock, with many blaming inadequate monitoring at schools and coaching centres for allowing such violence to unfold.
Police Urge Early InterventionIn light of the incident, police have urged parents, schools, and coaching institutes to take minor disputes among students seriously. “Timely intervention could prevent such tragedies,” said the investigating officer. The probe is ongoing, and authorities are questioning the coaching center’s staff as well.
