The electric two-wheeler market in India is heating up, and TVS is ready to add more fire. The company will launch its new affordable electric scooter, TVS Orbiter, on 28 August. Positioned below the popular TVS iQube, the Orbiter will be the brand’s new entry-level EV, making it cheaper and more accessible to buyers.
Price Positioning-
The TVS iQube currently starts at around ₹1 lakh and goes up to ₹1.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
-
The upcoming TVS Orbiter is expected to be priced under ₹1 lakh, making it more affordable.
-
Once launched, the Orbiter will directly compete with Ola S1X and Bajaj Chetak in the budget EV scooter segment.
The timing of the launch is crucial—just ahead of the festive season, when auto sales traditionally rise. TVS hopes the Orbiter will give a strong push to its EV sales during this high-demand period.
Expected Features & DesignThough official details are yet to be confirmed, patent filings and design sketches hint at:
-
Sleek, premium styling with a dual-tone paint scheme
-
Large wheels and a swingarm-mounted motor
-
LED DRLs, square LED headlamp, LED tail-lamps
-
Visor and front disc brake for better performance and safety
With the Orbiter, TVS is set to expand its EV lineup and make electric mobility more accessible. The big question is—will it be able to outshine Ola’s aggressive S1X lineup in the under-₹1 lakh segment?
