New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned model and Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, and Bengal actress Mimi Chakrabarty, a former Trinamool Congress MP, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the online betting platform 1xBet.
Urvashi has been asked to appear at the ED headquarters in Delhi on September 16, while Mimi has been summoned on September 15.
The ED believes Urvashi and Mimi are linked to the app through certain endorsements, hence officials will probe their connection during questioning.
1xbet is under scrutiny for suspected money laundering.
A number of high-profile personalities have already been questioned by the central agency for promoting illegal betting platforms as part of a nationwide crackdown.
Former Team India cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina appeared before ED officials over the last few weeks.
