Bryson DeChambeau has claimed that Team USA are "so back" as the Ryder Cup fast approaches. The prestigious team tournament, which pits off 12 of the USA's best golfers against a dozen of Europe's finest talents, lands on the famed greens and fairways of New York's Bethpage Black on Friday afternoon.

And LIV Golf sensation DeChambeau is eager to hit the ground running this year after missing out on the action two years ago. The 32-year-old didn't receive a call-up from Zach Johnson when the competition arrived at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, a decision the seasoned veteran may still rue given the title ultimately went to Luke Donald and Team Europe. However, after securing his place under Keegan Bradley this time around, DeChambeau will certainly have something to prove on home soil.

The 'Scientist' will team up with the likes of Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas and JJ Spaun as he vies for glory at the 2025 Ryder Cup, and has made his intentions incredibly clear on social media in the build-up. Taking to Instagram ahead of the tournament, DeChambeau shared a clip carousel looking back at Team USA's win at the tournament in 2021.

And alongside the post, DeChambeau excitedly wrote: "We're so back," sharing his excitement to hit the teebox and get going alongside his fellow countrymen. It comes as DeChambeau took 2.5 points from three matches to see out a 19-9 win for the Red, White and Blue in 2021.

Meanwhile, DeChambeau's team-mates know all too well just how vital the California-born star can be when the big moments in golf come a-knocking. Team USA captain, Keegan Bradley, said of the star: "He's a really fiery player.

"When you come to a Ryder Cup, you don't want guys to try to be something they're not. We have a lot of calm, mellow guys, so we need the energy from Bryson."

Meanwhile, Schauffele said of the two-time US Open champion: "I feel like Bryson could be like the difference for us in a strange way from the standpoint of feeding into these fans, the style of golf he plays."

The 2025 Ryder Cup gets underway at Bethpage Black on Friday, September 26. You can keep up to date with all of the action from the tournament with Express Sport's live blog, here.
