Strictly Come Dancing's It Takes Two host Janette Manrara halted the BBC spin-off show as she issued a "breaking news" announcement. The presenter, 41, shared the news with viewers that one show contestant would not be appearing on the main show at the weekend. The former professional dancer revealed show contestant Stefan Dennis, 66, who is partnered with pregnant star Dianne Buswell, 36, had been advised to rest and would not be taking to the dancefloor on Saturday night.

The BBC host began: "But first some breaking news. Due to illness, over the past few days Stefan Dennis has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend. In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week when they will hopefully be able to dance again." Janette added: "Stefan we are sending you our best wishes and we can't wait to have you back soon." Dianne has since taken to social media and broken her silence on her dance partner's shock absence.

So sorry to disappoint for tomorrow night but I expect to be back on deck with a full recovery and a rip roaring dance next week to make up."
