Considering how much of the day dogs spend asleep, they really do deserve somewhere cosy to do it. But finding a bed they'd prefer to the sofa can be difficult.
Dunelm is selling its Cord Box Pet Bed - in theory, cats could use it too - for £22.50 - £35, depending on whether it's for a large or medium sized pet.
The 5-starred bit of kit is rectangular and available in blue or ochre (basically a sunny yellow) and has a removable cover that can be chucked in the washing machine so it never gets too muddy or furry. It's got a non-slip bottom too, so no matter how vigorous the animal jumping into it is, it should not slide all over the floor.

For a rounder pet bed, try the Slumberdown Paws for Slumber Donut Pet Bed from Debenhams for £31.12. It comes in navy, grey or green and can be used indoors or moved around - it would be pretty handy in the car on long journeys. Alternatively, Pets At Home has the 3 Peaks Nevis Dog Bed Green for £31-£56. It has lovely white piping on it (which may get a tad grubby), but it is water resistant and wipe clean.
One customer said of the Dunelm dog bed: "Your bed makes my dog happy. Merry my Cocker Spaniel loves her new bed . She uses it all the time."
A second said: "Attractive dog bed in a gorgeous colour - reminds me of the ones for sale at Loaf but a fraction of the price. It's well cushioned and our doggo took to it straight away. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend."
A third added: "Great. Stylish dog bed. Soft and cosy, my whippet loves it."
However, one said of Dunelm on Trustpilot: "The actual chairs I purchased are beautiful. But I paid extra for next day delivery (on a Wednesday) and didn't receive my chairs until the following Monday!"
Another flagged: "Delivery was brilliant, shopping good, but the quality was less than expected."
The Cord Box Pet Bed is available at Dunelm.
