Agartala: Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, Tripura's royal scion and founder of Tipra Motha, an ally of BJP, on Sunday claimed that if the local boys were asked, they would defend India and push out illegal Bangladeshis from entering the country.
Pradyot's statement came soon after four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested at the Agartala railway station.
He further said illegal Bangladeshis are entering the country every day, and for every five of them apprehended, a thousand others get away because of the rough terrain and porous border.
"Tripura is going through a demographic change once again. Both Assam and Tripura, and parts of Meghalaya, have become transit points for illegal migration to the Northeast and the rest of India," Pradyot said.
