Kriti Sanon emerges as the leading lady for 'Don 3' opposite Ranveer Singh; Farhan Akhtar returns to direct - Report

In 2024, it was announced that Ranveer Singh will take on the iconic role of 'Don', becoming the third actor after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to portray the character. This announcement also marked Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated return to directing after a decade. Initially, Kiara Advani was cast as the female lead, but she had to withdraw from the high-profile project due to her pregnancy. Recently, reports suggest that Kriti Sanon is now the leading candidate to star opposite Ranveer in 'Don 3'.






Kriti Sanon’s Confirmation and Role Details






A report in Pinkvilla suggests that Kriti has given her primary consent to star alongside Ranveer in 'Don 3' and is likely to finalize the agreement within a few weeks. Farhan Akhtar and the Excel Entertainment team were seeking a seasoned actress with a strong screen presence for the role of Roma, and Kriti perfectly matched their vision. She is enthusiastic about officially joining the project soon.






Production Plans and Filming Schedule






The report further added that 'Don 3' will be shot largely in Europe and the locations are already closed. The script is also locked, and all that remains now is slight polishing alongside the action design. The pre-production work will go on for the next few months, and the team is aiming to take the film on floors by October/November 2025.

Before starting 'Don 3', Kriti Sanon will finish shooting for 'Tere Ishk Mein' directed by Aanand L Rai and 'Cocktail 2' produced by Dinesh Vijan. She is also talking about acting in a horror movie called 'Nai Naveli' with Aanand L Rai, planned for 2026.
