NEW DELHI: During a light-hearted moment at Mumbai Indians ' (MI) training session, veteran fast bowler Trent Boult entertained teammates by trying to imitate fellow New Zealander Mitchell Santner ’s bowling action. The result was a wildly inaccurate delivery that drew a witty comment from Jasprit Bumrah : “That’s why we should stick to fast bowling.”

The MI squad was in the middle of preparing for their all-important IPL 2025 Eliminator clash against the Gujarat Titans , set to take place on May 30 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.

Boult’s comic impersonation brought a sense of fun to the intense session, highlighting the team’s strong bond and relaxed atmosphere.

Boult, renowned for his lethal swing, rejoined MI this season after being picked up for Rs 12.5 crore in the IPL mega auction. His partnership with Bumrah, which was a cornerstone of MI’s 2020 title triumph, has been rekindled in the 2025 campaign, continuing to be one of the team’s major strengths both on and off the field.

These light-hearted exchanges reflect the unity and upbeat mood within the MI camp, as they head into the knockout game hoping that their talent and team spirit can take them deeper into the tournament.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans also adopted a fun approach in their build-up to the same clash. Head coach Ashish Nehra added a refreshing touch to the training session by organizing a lively game of football. Known for his expressive presence and laid-back coaching style, Nehra’s decision to bring football into the mix reflects his belief in keeping things simple while promoting a relaxed, team-first atmosphere.
