Who made it to the 2024–25 NHL Awards list: Finalists revealed

The National Hockey League formally released the finalists for all the major awards of the 2024-25 season, including awards for exceptional performance, leadership, and determination voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA), NHL Players' Association, and league general managers. The final ballots were cast after the regular season before the Stanley Cup Playoffs began.
Hart Memorial Trophy – Most Valuable Player
Presented by: PHWA
For: The NHL's Most Valuable Player (MVP)
Finalists:

  • Leon Draisaitl (Oilers) – NHL goal leader (52), 106 points in 71 games
  • Connor Hellebuyck (Jets) – Led league in wins (47), GAA (2.00), and shutouts (8)
  • Nikita Kucherov (Lightning) – NHL point leader (121); only finalist also nominated for the Ted Lindsay Award
Ted Lindsay Award – Most Outstanding Player (Players' Vote)

For: Best player overall as voted on by peers

Nominees:
  • Nikita Kucherov (Lightning) – 121 points, 56 primary assists
  • Nathan MacKinnon (Avalanche) – 116 points, assist leader (84)

Calder Memorial Trophy – Rookie of the Year

  • Macklin Celebrini (Sharks) – 25 goals, 63 points in 70 games
  • Lane Hutson (Canadiens) – Paced rookies in points (66) and assists (60)
  • Dustin Wolf (Flames) – 29 wins, 2.64 GAA, 3 shutouts in goal
Vezina Trophy – Top Goaltender

To: Top goalie in the NHL
Finalists:
  • Connor Hellebuyck (Jets) – 47 wins, 2.00 GAA, 8 shutouts
  • Darcy Kuemper (Kings) – 2.02 GAA, 31 wins in 50 games
  • Andrei Vasilevskiy (Lightning) – 38 wins, 6 shutouts, most minutes played
James Norris Trophy – Best Defenseman

Nominees:
  • Quinn Hughes (Canucks) – 76 points, 60 assists; led Canucks in both
  • Cale Makar (Avalanche) – League-leading 92 points among defensemen
  • Zach Werenski (Blue Jackets) – 82 points, led NHL in TOI (26:45)
Frank J. Selke Trophy – Top Defensive Forward

  • Aleksander Barkov (Panthers) – 56.5% faceoff win rate, 34 takeaways

Bill Masterton Trophy – Perseverance & Dedication

For: Dedication, sportsmanship, and perseverance
Finalists:
  • Marc-André Fleury (Wild) – Retiring after 21 seasons, 2nd in all-time wins (575)
  • Gabriel Landeskog (Avalanche) – Returned from 3-year injury absence
  • Sean Monahan (Blue Jackets) – Played through grief after teammate's death, 1.06 PPG
Lady Byng Trophy – Sportsmanship & Excellence

For: Gentlemenly conduct with high skill

  • Anze Kopitar (Kings) – Just 4 penalty minutes over 82 games

Jack Adams Award – Coach of the Year

For: Coach who helped team the most
Nominees
  • Scott Arniel (Jets) – Guided Jets to franchise-record 56 victories and Presidents' Trophy
  • Spencer Carbery (Capitals) – Top mark in Eastern Conference (51-22-9)
  • Martin St. Louis (Canadiens) – First playoff action in 4 years
