DNI Tulsi Gabbard has not ruled out running for president in 2028 as she spoke with right-wing commentator Megyn Kelly on her show and the question was an obvious one given President Donald Trump not ruling out running in 2028 either. Tulsi Gabbard ran for president for 2020 and became the first female combat veteran to run for president.
"I will never rule out any opportunity to serve my country. If we had talked a year ago, the thought would not have crossed my mind that I would be here and I would be having this conversation," Gabbard said.
“My decisions in my life have always been made around how can I best be of service to God and how can I best be of service to our country. And that is what has led me here," Gabbard said adding that she would be chasing these opportunities.
Vance 2028 or Gabard 2028?
Vice president JD Vance is the favorite candidate of the Republicans, as of now, to lead the party in the 2028 election. But the Trump Organization released Trump 2028 merchandise, keeping the conversation about Trump possibly running for a third term alive. The 22nd Amendment of the Constitution bars any individual from contesting for the third time but Trump said there are loopholes. One possible loophole is to make JD Vance contest for the president with Donald Trump as his running mate, as a two-time president can run for vice president. If they get elected, JD Vance can resign, making way for the vice president to become the president.
However, Donald Trump may not be keen to contest for the third time, as it would not be easy for him, though Republicans are requesting him to run for another term all the time, he said.
Megyn Kelly said she sees the first female president in Tulsi Gabbard. "I know that put you through the meat grinder the last time you ran. But that was the other side. Now you have crossed over," Kelly said.
