VISAKHAPATNAM : The crew members of the US Navy ships Comstock and Ralph Johnson said they will always remember their visit to Visakhapatnam and the great experience of the joint exercise with the Indian Navy as part of ongoing Tiger Triumph-25.
The US Navy personnel have taken Vizag cuisine in a big way during their visit to the city. This even includes street food and biryani.
The Whidbey Island-Class dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45) and US Navy’s guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114) arrived at Visakhapatnam for Exercise Tiger Triumph- 2025.
Naval Officer B Stocks of USS Comstock expressed that he is proud to have been selected and to be part of the significant Tiger Triumph exercise. Regarding the capabilities of this USS Comstock, Stocks mentioned that their primary mission domains and distinctive competencies encompass amphibious operations and humanitarian aid disaster relief.
“On the amphibious operations side, we can bring tremendous amounts of marine combat power ashore for them to execute their missions, develop force, increase tempo, and proceed towards their objective”, he added.
Regarding the ongoing Tiger Triumph, Stocks say that they are excited to be a part of the multinational joint and combined operation to be able to support unification between the US and India.
USS Comstock have a crew complement of about 350, and we can carry about 450 marines as well inside our well deck, which is about 440 feet long, almost three quarters of this ship, we can onboard tremendous amounts of combat power, supplies, logistics to be able to support the marine forces ashore, or tremendous amounts of humanitarian aid disaster relief_ medical supplies, food and aid. We love the time we spent in Visakhapatnam with Indian Navy personnel and Visakhapatnam is a beautiful place, he added.
Naval Officer JAC Caesar of USS Ralph Johnson said Ralph Johnson was commissioned seven years ago and it is relatively new within the Navy in terms of destroyers. Regarding the Tiger Triumph, JAC Caesar said the big focus is the amphibious humanitarian aid disaster response exercise with the INS Jalashwa, he added.
The US Naval personnel expressed that they had food in various places across the nation, but this visit to Vizag is more cheerful. Vizag is so beautiful; the exercise is a magnificent event and above all the food in the city is awesome and yummy. Relishing the spicy chicken food is a memorable event in our life, they added.
